"A Muppet Family Christmas" is a 1987 musical television special uniting Muppets from multiple franchises for a heartwarming holiday celebration.
It first aired on December 16, 1987, on ABC in the United States and was filmed at 9 Channel Nine Court in Toronto, Ontario (CFTO Studios). The special was conceived by Jim Henson and written by longtime Muppet writer Jerry Juhl, with direction by Peter Harris and Eric Till. Music supervision was handled by Larry Grossman, and production design by Val Strazovec. It features a crossover of characters from The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, and Muppet Babies, along with human actor Gerard Parkes as Doc from Fraggle Rock, and a cameo by Jim Henson himself
